Welcome to My Blog, I’m Jessica H. Mavenport
Hi, I’m Jessica. I’m a mom of three, a former event planner, and someone who never quite grew out of color-coding everything. That last part turned out to be useful, because raising three kids under ten means my house runs on systems, schedules, and a lot of trial and error in the kitchen.
I started writing here after years of friends asking me the same questions over and over. How do you get dinner on the table on a weeknight when you’ve got a toddler on your hip? What’s actually worth buying for a new baby versus what’s marketing? How do you still feel like yourself after your closet becomes 90 percent leggings? Eventually I stopped answering those questions one text at a time and started writing them down properly.
My background is in event planning, which sounds like an odd path into parenting and food content, but it taught me how to manage chaos on a deadline, which is basically what raising kids is. Before I had my first daughter, I spent almost a decade coordinating weddings and corporate events, and that job is where I fell in love with logistics, hosting, and yes, the fashion side of things too. A well-planned outfit and a well-planned party have more in common than people think.
A couple of years ago I put together my first book, a practical guide for new parents that skips the guilt and focuses on what actually gets you through the first year. It’s available on Amazon, and the response to it is honestly what pushed me to build this site into something bigger than a hobby blog.
Everything here comes from my own kitchen, my own closet, and my own parenting wins and mistakes. My recipes are ones I’ve actually made for my kids, including the ones who claim to hate vegetables. My fashion posts are built around real budgets, not press samples. And my parenting content comes from someone who is very much still in it, not looking back on it from a distance.
I live outside Atlanta with my husband, our three kids, and a golden retriever who thinks every meal is for her. If you want to say hi or suggest something you’d like to see covered, the contact page is the best way to reach me.
